Seeking Nominations for the Sam Overman Best Paper Award


The American Society for Public Administration’s (ASPA) Section for Complexity and Network Studies is pleased to seek nominations for the Sam Overman Best Paper Award. 

This award is granted yearly to the scholarly work that (1) makes a significant contribution to the network or complexity literature, and (2) is relevant to the field public administration.  To be eligible for the award papers must be published or presented in the 2019 calendar year by an SCNS member or members.  Evaluation criteria include (1) contribution to network or complexity literature, (2) relevance to public administration, and (3) research quality (theoretical, methodological). Self nominations are welcome.

Nominations are to be submitted by email to Julia Carboni ( and include: (1) support for a paper or publication, and (2) a PDF file of the paper.   Nominations are due by March 1, 2020.  The Award will be announced at the 2020 ASPA Conference in Anaheim.
