Emerging LeadersInternational Fellows Program

(Tuesday September 15-Monday November 30, 2015).

This is a professional development opportunity for emerging Third-Sector practitioners to support community philanthropy and help buildlocal grantmakingcapacity in their home countries.

Fellows will

  • participate in small group seminars and discussions with leading practitioners in the philanthropy/foundation community.
  • visit community foundations and other grantmaking organizations in the field to learn about their day-to-day workings.
  • Meet prominent figures in the philanthropy/foundation community.
  • join a network of198 alumni from63 countries.
  • link with national and international networks of people, organizations and resources.
  • produce a research paper reflecting new strategies.

About the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society

Founded in September 1986, the Center's mission is to strengthen philanthropy and civil society through education, research and leadership training. Located amid the nation's largest concentration of foundations, corporate donors and local, national and international nonprofit organizations, the Center serves as a base for research and ongoing interchange among scholars and practitioners in the field. The Center's activities are interdisciplinary, with an emphasis on multicultural, women's and international philanthropy. Within this framework, the Center sponsors seminars, conferences and lectures; fellowships; research projects; and publications.


Generous program funding for the2014 and 2015 International Fellows is provided by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation with additional support from The Winnipeg Foundation, Metcalf Foundation, University of San Andres, Centro de Estudios de Estado y Sociedad (CEDES), Friends of the Fellows and program alumni from around the globe.
