JULY 2015: Philanthropy in Africa 2015: People, Policy, and Practice 


The postponed 2014 African Grantmakers Network (AGN) Third Biennial Assembly will now be held in Arusha, Tanzania on 1st - 3rd July 2015 and hosted by the African Women's Development Fund (AWDF) and The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS), .
Save the Date, join the conversation with thought leaders in philanthropy and participate in action - oriented sessions on strategies to contribute and sustain the growth of African economies through philanthropy development.

This year's theme is “Philanthropy in Africa 2015 – People, Policy and Practice”.

Pre-conference events include the "AfriFEST Arts and Culture Festival" to be held on the 29th - 30th June, featuring renowned artists on the continent. The "African Youth in Philanthropy Conference", an interactive youth conference themed "African Youth in Philanthropy: Participation, Policy and Practice" takes place on 30th June. Explore conversations with 100 Youth delegates from over 20 African countries and the Diaspora, on youth-focused philanthropy policies, best practice and broader approaches towards an inclusive development agenda in which youth in philanthropy are key change agents.

The assembly conference culminates in the Second AGN African Philanthropy Award gala event which recognizes and celebrates nominees for their outstanding contributions to philanthropy on the Continent.
