ANZTSR: Australia and New Zealand Third Sector Research --
ANZTSR, an incorporated association, is a network of people interested in pursuing or encouraging research into the Third Sector in Australia and New Zealand, the hundreds and thousands of private not-for-profit, community or voluntary organisations and the activities of volunteering and philanthropy.
APPIN: Asian Pacific Philanthropy Information Network --
The Asia Pacific Philanthropy Information Network seeks to make available contemporary information about philanthropy and the Third Sector within the Asia Pacific region and build strong networks between researchers seeking to understand philanthropy and the Third Sector within the region. APPIN consists of research centers in several Asia Pacific countries which have mapped the scope of philanthropy and the Third Sector in their respective countries. APPIN is a product of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC).
ARNOVA: Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action --
ARNOVA is an international, interdisciplinary membership organization. Our members include scholars and nonprofit leaders fostering the creation, application and dissemination of research on voluntary action, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy and civil society.
Centre for Civil Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science --
The LSE Centre for Civil Society was founded in October 1999 as a research and teaching unit within the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics. Formerly it was the Centre for Voluntary Organisation which pioneered the study of voluntary associations in Britain and the management of non-governmental development organizations. The new Centre will remain at the forefront of this rapidly growing field in terms of research, teaching, policy analysis, and professional education, while expanding its international presence, focus and range of activities.
Centre for Civil Society at the University of Natal --
The Centre for Civil Society, established in July 2001, already has a wide range of thriving local, national and international linkages with key organizations and individuals in and concerned with civil society. The Centre's mission is to promote the study of the non-profit sector as a legitimate and flourishing area of scholarly activity in South Africa, and to develop and promote partnerships aimed at knowledge sharing and capacity-building in the civil society sector. The Centre's primary strategies to realize its vision are to act as grant agency, research unit, postgraduate teaching and in-service training, and information agency.

CIVICUS is an international alliance dedicated to strengthening citizen action and civil society throughout the world. As a global alliance of citizens and their organizations, CIVICUS helps advance regional, national and international initiatives to strengthen the capacity of civil society.
EMES --
The EMES European Research Network is a network of university research centers and individual researchers whose goal is to undertake high-impact and high-excellence research on socio-economic entities that, while increasingly important in Europe and elsewhere, are still poorly understood. The terms designating these entities include: third sector, social economy, civil and solidarity-based economy ("économie solidaire"), non-profit sector, voluntary organisations and social enterprises.
ICTR: Israeli Center for Third Sector Research --
The Israeli Center for Third Sector Research is the first and only academic research center of its kind in Israel. ICTR prides itself on innovative and pioneering work in its field. The goals of ICTR are to develop policy-relevant knowledge of the nature, structure and societal role of Israel’s Third Sector; to promote study of the Third Sector and related subjects, such as philanthropy, volunteering, privatization of public services and business social responsibility, as a legitimate multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary academic field; to engage in policy analysis for the Third Sector and to make Third Sector issues a focus of the public agenda; to create a resource center and database on Israel’s Third Sector and to make it available to researchers, policy makers and professionals in the field.
Philippine Nonprofit Sector Project --
The Philippine Nonprofit Sector Project was undertaken in recognition of the important role that civil society has played in the history of the country and the crucial role it continues to have in transforming the nation. Since 1998, the project has initiated studies on the size and scope of the sector with nation-wide baseline surveys conducted in 1999 and 2000, on the organizational structure of nonprofit organizations, on the legal environment for nonprofits, on the sector's impact and contributions to society, politics and economy, and on the giving and volunteering behavior of Filipinos.
SCVO: Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations --
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is the umbrella body for voluntary organisations in Scotland, with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness. For more than 50 years SCVO has worked through its membership, their elected representatives and its staff to pursue a twofold strategic mission: to promote and advocate the independence, interests and values of the voluntary sector among the major players in Scottish life and in the wider community; and to encourage voluntary organisations to realise their full potential by improving their effectiveness and capacity through providing access to training, information, analysis, funding opportunities, and services.
