About the Center
The VMI deals with scientific-interdisciplinary research and teaching in the field of private Nonprofit Organisations (NPO). Based on the knowledge that traditional management knowledge can only be transferred under certain conditions, the VMI tries to close this gap in industrial management. It is at the disposal of executives of associations, foundations, co-operations and further NPO, providing scientifically founded tools for relevant and convincing, as well as economically appropriate, solutions to management tasks. The Fribourg management model for NPO, developed by the VMI, forms the theoretical background for all the executive education courses by VMI.
The VMI is directed by Prof. Dr. Bernd Helmig and Prof. Dr. Robert Purtschert.
