About the Center
The School of Public Affairs (SPA) at Baruch College launched the Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management (CNSM) to address the needs of nonprofit organizations that nurture underserved communities and advocate for programs and legislation that support urban life in New York City. The Center provides an environment of mutually respectful learning, research and support for professionals who work in this exciting and challenging field. The Center aims to help practitioners to develop personally and professionally and to connect with others who serve in this dynamic sector. Jack Krauskopf has been the director since September 2004.
Major Education Initiatives
The Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management offers a wide range of academic and non-credit programs and services oriented towards different needs and level of experience among practitioners in nonprofit organizations. These include seminar series on diverse topics like investing for nonprofits, fundraising, and community engagement; conferences and Consulting Day; and certificate programs for emerging leaders.

- Nonprofit Executive Outlook Survey
- Performance Contracting, Mergers and Alliances, and Executive Succession research
- The Center’s Working Papers series includes work in progress by Baruch faculty and other scholars, on significant and emerging policy and management issues of interest to nonprofit scholars and managers.
- The Nonprofit Computer Lab Supports nonprofit sector research and information technology utilization in nonprofit organizations.
