About the Center
CIES was born in Barcelona in April of 1992 like result of the accumulated experience from principles of eighty by a group of experts in the scope of the economy and society. Constituted under the legal form of foundation, it has like vision and mission of being a center to multidiscipline of investigation and formation of reference, in the implantation of the strategy of the sustainable development at level of organization and level of region. By means of the study of the combination between economic effectiveness and I interest social.
In these years, and through their work of investigation, teaching and diffusion, the CIES has educated to experts and representatives of the public administrations, to university professors and students coming from different disciplines, to technicians and managers of movements and organizations of base, as well as to professionals coming from the mercantile scope.
As a result of everything it the CIES has become a center of resources that has been able to agglutinate to the most active agents in the work of study and promotion of the Economy and Society, collecting, analyzing and spreading of this sector, stimulating and supporting the innovating projects for its development, creating platforms and networks that harness their multiplying effects
