Name of Center

CETS – Center for Third Sector Studies
Excellence in Management for the Third Sector

About the Center

FGV-EAESP has historically played a leading role in the training of public and business managers. In September 1994, our School created the Third Sector Research Center (CETS). This Center is a pioneering enterprise in Brazil in the fields of teaching, research, training and advice to Third Sector organizations, acting as a model for other higher education organizations.

The Third Sector is made up of private organizations which provide services and assets for the public. Among Third Sector organizations, we can find civil associations, charities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and foundations.

Third Sector organizations have played an exceedingly important role in the implementation of social programs oriented towards the population and the strengthening of the citizenship.

The perfecting and strengthening of the action of Third Sector organizations and the growth and diversification of their activities are very important to face the present social and economic challenges.

Director: Prof. Luiz Carlos Merege, PhD
