The School
The focus of the Siena School of Advanced Training for the Third Sector is at directors, managers, volunteers and operators in the Third Sector.  They offer advanced training, grounded in the knowledge and skills specific to the Third Sector and social enterprise, not only in the field of social professions, but also in all other professions linked to the Third Sector, to consortiums, and to the for-profit and non-profit fields.The school continually monitors instructional offerings and identifies both current and future needs of the Third Sector in terms of competencies and professional profiles.

They provide a forum for the Third Sector, Public Administration, the academic/scientific community, and the business world to meet and reflect together on shared projects, goals, and proposals.

Thanks to the Foundation ForTeS, Italy has an enriched Third Sector panorama, providing a unique opportunity to build bridges among people, organizations and communities.

The staff
Dr. Adriano Scarpelli, General Coordinator, brings extensive experience in the third sector and in the field of education, having held senior managerial positions in various contexts such as the "Equal” project.

Dr.  Tiziana Musso, Assistant Coordinator, has undergraduate and post graduate training in the third sector and the field of service cooperation and more than ten years professional experience in training, orientation and human resources.

Dr. Andrea Volterrani, President of the Foundation, is a sociologist and researcher at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. 

Our mission
The School strives to promote development of high quality research and education on the Third Sector with a collaborative approach; to recognize values of diversity and pluralism; to respect a variety of global visions; and to broadly enhance the dissemination and application of knowledge regarding the Third Sector and voluntary sector, in a national and international contest. 

Their direction includes playing an increasingly dynamic role in the non-profit field, due to rapidly changing societies, as the third sector has significantly gained importance in many countries.

Social components
The Board of Directors oversees the administration and management of the Foundation. Currently, the board consists of the President Andrea Volterrani,  Enrico Cecchetti and Giuliana Gherardi Boetti.•The Laboratory of Ideas –The advisory board of the School, Think Tank, promotes both the exchange of ideas and the analysis of the Third Sector, along with social and economic development of local communities; the Foundation nationally promotes their seminars and annual gatherings.
Our membership
Monte dei Paschi di Siena FoundationThe Monte dei Paschi Foundation was established in 1995 when the banking activities of the public-law credit institution were transferred to Monte dei Paschi Bank. The strong values and principles of the Foundation direct its pursuit of sustainable development; these principles are stated in the Ethics and Quality Policy.

Provincial Administration of SienaThe Provincial Administration of Siena has activated a system of government that aims to preserve and develop values, including solidarity, human dignity, sustainability, integration, and non-profit culture, as such values represent instruments that may serve to open new possibilities for better development. Ethical governance for the Province of Siena is the decisive theme for territorial development and is an essential parameter of every policy choice.

Cesvot (Center for Tuscan Volunteer Associations)Cesvot was created to address the need for establishing an ongoing centre open to cultural debate and the exchange of ideas among volunteers: voluntary associations and people known for their commitment to voluntary work in a regional context. It offers education, consultation and planning assistance, as well as develops research and documentation to over 2,500 voluntary associations in the Tuscan territory.
