Call for New Reviewers and for Updating Reviewer’s Information for Voluntas

Now an ISI-rated journal, Voluntas is receiving many more submissions then before – and it will get even more as soon as it has an Impact Factor and included on the Social Science Citation Index. This will happen in the next months. The dark side of this bright development is that our editor, Bernard Enjolras, sometimes has problems finding reviewers with the right disciplinary background or specific knowledge of the field of study, regional specialization, etc.  Just having names of helpful people is not enough. It is important to have additional information in the reviewers’ data base, also for the reviewers because it can be quite frustrating to get requests to review manuscripts outside your field of expertise. For this reason, we have this double call.

1. New reviewers

We would like to ask ISTR-members (but other people are welcome as well) to register as a potential reviewer. Please go to http://www.editorialmanager.com/volu/ and register as an author (it is not possible to register as a reviewer) and send an e-mail to Bernard Enjolras (bernard.enjolras@samfunnsforskning.no) to tell him you have registered to become a potential reviewer. Then Bernard will give you the reviewer status, e-mail to you when he has done so, and you can go back to http://www.editorialmanager.com/volu/ to fill out the additional information. Visit here.

2. People who are already registered as reviewers

Most of you probably got a request from Springer last year to update your information. Some of you have done so successfully, others less successfully, and some of you might have forgotten to do so. If you did not get the request, you are not in the data base. In that case: please register as a new reviewer. If you got the request but could not login because you had forgotten your username and/or password, please try again: you will get the possibility to ask for your password or to get a new user name and password.  We strongly encourage all people check their information.  It is easy to add or change information. Visit here.  You can always return here to update your data.

We would be very grateful if you could spend a few minutes to do this. On behalf of the editor, but also because it is in the interest of our field of research, for ISTR and for ourselves as readers and authors of Voluntas, that there is good reviewers’ database.

Thanks! Paul Dekker, ISTR Publications Committee
