You are invited to participate in the launch event of the Open University Business School’s new Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership (CVSL). The centre provides voluntary sector organisations with access to free and flexible leadership development courses and research-led insight to help strengthen the core of the sector at a time of unprecedented uncertainty and challenge.

Debra Allcock Tyler, Chief Executive of the Directory of Social Change, will be a keynote speaker at the event.   An internationally published author, including It’s Tough at the Top, a guide for chief executives; a Trustee of In-Kind Direct and a Patron of the Charity Staff Foundation, Debra brings us insights from the private and charitable sectors.

Debra will be speaking on the thought-provoking question of “Would your mother be proud of the way you lead your organisation?”

Other highlights of the event programme:
·         Sir Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive, National Council for Voluntary Organisations will share his insights on leadership within the sector and how The Open University is best placed to deal with challenges in the Voluntary Sector.
·         An interactive panel discussion including all our speakers and Research Fellows of the Open University.
·         Professor Mark Fenton-O’Creevy, Associate Dean External Engagement, Professor of Organisational Behaviour at OUBS will be facilitating the event.
The event is on Wednesday 12 October, 12:00 until 17:30 with networking lunch and canapé reception afterwards, at One Whitehall Place.

The event is free to attend but places are limited so we advise you to book your place early to avoid disappointment. To book and for further information please email ou-events@open.ac.uk
