Editorial Contributions sought from the field of development, human rights, law & int'l relations
Thursday, September 17, 2015
CHRI is an independent international NGO working towards the practical realisation of human rights in the countries of the Commonwealth. As a result, one of our main advocacy platform is at the Commonwealth Secretariat and other Commonwealth related events. As you may already know, the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) is going to be held this year in Malta during November 27-29. CHRI will be present at the biennial summit and would be advocating for opening up civil society spaces and greater engagement with civil society actors. CHRI would also be launching its biennial CHOGM report on the same subject.
It is in the context of our advocacy efforts that we are seeking editorial contributions from scholars, researchers and practitioners from the field of development, human rights, law and international relations to highlight some of the issues and challenges that face the Commonwealth and its member states. CHRI has entered into an editorial partnership with openGlobalRights (openDemocracy) to showcase these concerns under the banner, "Eyeing the 2015 CHOGM: Lessons for the Commonwealth"
We welcome submissions of 1000 words on Commonwealth issues for either the openGlobalRights partnership or the CHRI Newsletter; the next edition of the latter, slated for release during the first week of November 2015 would focus on the upcoming CHOGM in Malta.
