Scholarships and Registration Subsidies

SCHOLARSHIPS

A limited number of scholarships designed to encourage participation of researchers from developing countries, and a limited number of scholarships designed to encourage participation of postgraduate (including Ph.D.) students from all regions of the world will be offered. The scholarships provide financial assistance for travel and accommodation, and a registration subsidy. All scholarship recipients will be required to pay a conference registration fee of US$100.

Developing Country Scholarships
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Paid 2-year membership in ISTR (2008/2009)
2. Abstract accepted for presentation (notification in late January 2008)
3. Work for a University or Third Sector organization in a developing country
4. Submit a curriculum vitae
5. Provide an estimate from a local travel agent for round trip economy
airfare to Barcelona, Spain
6. Complete and submit both Application Form for Scholarship & Registration Subsidies and Conference Registration Form

Postgraduate Scholarships
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Paid 2-year student membership in ISTR (2008/2009)
2. Abstract accepted for presentation (notification in late January 2008)
3. Currently enrolled in a University
4. Submit a curriculum vitae
5. Provide an estimate from a local travel agent for round trip economy airfare to Barcelona, Spain
6. Complete and submit both Application Form for Scholarship & Registration Subsidies and Conference Registration Form

REGISTRATION SUBSIDIES

A limited number of registration subsidies will be offered. These subsidies will allow researchers to attend the Eighth International Conference for a fee of US$100.

In order to be eligible to receive a subsidy, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

1. Paid 2-year membership in ISTR (2008/2009)
2. Submit a curriculum vitae
3. Complete and submit both Application Form for Scholarship & Registration Subsidies and Conference Registration Form

Applicants may apply for any or all of the above for which they qualify.

Scholarship and Registration Subsidy applications must be received in the offices of the ISTR Secretariat by February 29, 2008.

Applications received after February 29, 2008, will not be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Scholarship and registration subsidy recipients will be notified prior to March 31, 2008.
