Guidelines for Poster Presentation

Following are the guidelines for poster presentations for the Seventh International Conference of the International Society for Third-Sector Research (ISTR).

ISTR has arranged for freestanding boards to be used for the presentations, with on board allocated to each individual poster presenter. The posters will be displayed throughout the conference and a Poster Session Review time has been scheduled in the conference program for Tuesday afternoon, July 11th. This will be an opportunity for conference participants to discuss the research with you as well as a time for you to distribute materials.

We suggest that the poster presentation be structured into the following section headings:

Rationale & Background: Place in context the background of
your work
Aims & Objectives: Define clearly the stated aims and
objectives of the research
Methodology: Describe the process involved in carrying
out the research
Findings: A brief synopsis of the overall
findings/implications
Key References: Ensure that all names mentioned throughout
the presentation are clearly referenced at the end

Our goal is to be flexible regarding the poster guidelines, yet at the same time make sure that the posters will be attractive and easy to read. Make sure that the font is large enough to be legible. We also suggest using graphics to help break up text and attract interest. Diagrams, photographs, pie/bar charts, line graphs, maps, etc. are welcome and may be presented in color or black and white.

Setting Up:

When planning your presentation, please remember to allow room for the author's name and the title of the presentation at the top of each board
and some space around the edges. Materials for affixing your presentation to the poster board will be supplied by ISTR. Do not use any other adhesive.

The poster display boards will be assembled and set up in the designated
area. The name of each presenter along with the title of their research
presentation will already be attached to the panel. Each poster presenter
will be responsible for attaching his/her own presentation to the
designated poster board and for removing it at the end of the conference.
No liability can be taken for loss or damage to the material.

Access to the poster display boards will be available from 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 9th, the opening day of the conference. Presentations should be displayed by 4:00 p.m. on July 9th.

More information regarding poster size, arrangement, etc. will be available closer to the conference dates.
